Important mechanism found in Yersinia pestis bacteria
The question about calcium's role is now answered.
A 50 year-old question has been answered. Chemists and microbiologists from the Chemical Biological Centre KBC and from UCMR can now describe the detailed role of calcium in the ability of Yersinia pestis bacteria to cause disease.
