Welcome to the UCMR DAY 12 January 2017!
All scientists and staff members within UCMR (Umeå Centre for Microbial Research) research groups, collaboration partners and researchers with an interest in microbial research and/or infection biology are invited to a day of inspiring research presentations and an excellent opportunity for networking and initiation of multidisciplinary collaborations.

Kurt was a postdoctoral fellow in Hans Wolf-Watz group at molecular biology in the years following his dissertation 1994. His current research is directed towards identifying and characterizing host factors that play a role in the infection cycle of intracellular microbial pathogens. Most recently the focus has been on the infection-specific activities of the host factors heme regulated inhibitor (HRI) and perforin-2 (P2). Additionally he also co-directs a malaria drug-testing program.
