The Swedish Metabolomics Centre in Umeå, Sweden, is a national infrastructure that provides service for all Swedish universities and research institutes.

At the facility, large mass spectra libraries have been developed for both chemical standards and spectra from different samples. The libraries (GC/MS; LC/MS; LC/MS-MS) are continuously updated and will be publicly available in the future. So far, more than 65 000 samples have been analyzed in the facility, ranging from plant to plasma and cerebrospinal fluid samples. The facility has also developed targeted approaches for analyzing specific compounds like amines and amino acids, lipids and plant hormones.
