The prize committee at the Faculty of Medicine, Umeå University, decided to award Emmanuelle Charpentier with Umeå University's Eric K. Fernström prize 2011 for young and promising scientists. The prize amount is 100.000 Swedish Krona and Emmanuelle will be honoured at a Umeå University's annual ceremony in autumn and receive the prize from the Fernström foundation on November 2nd, 2011 at Lund University.
