Title: Really\, how smart can macrophages be?
\nHost: Å\;ke Forsberg
\nPlace: Lecture room E04\, m& aring\;lpunkt R\, building NUS 6A-L\, Biomedicinhuset
\nKurt was a p ostdoctoral fellow in Hans Wolf-Watz group at molecular biology in the yea rs following his dissertation 1994. His current research is directed towar ds identifying and characterizing host factors that play a role in the inf ection cycle of intracellular microbial pathogens. Most recently the focus has been on the infection-specific activities of the host factors heme re gulated inhibitor (HRI) and perforin-2 (P2). Additionally he also co-direc ts a malaria drug-testing program.
