Astra Zeneca in Sweden has set up a program for 2-year post-doc grants in six fields of research: in vivo pharmacology, drug metabolism, pharmacy, drug- and process chemistry, toxicology and translational medicine.
Eleven young researchers have been awarded grants to continue their academic careers in Sweden or abroad. Åsa Gylfe MD, PhD has received one of the grants in translational medicine to work in Mikael Elofssons research group at Dep of Chemistry in Umeå where she is going to study virulence blocking molecules in Chlamydia.
