\n< p> \;\nJacques Dubochet\, who is based at the University of Lau sanne in Switzerland\, will be awarded the Nobel prize on December 10 toge ther with Joachim Frank and Richard Henderson\, for developing cryo-electr on microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecu les in solution.
\nUmeå\; University and the Ume& aring\; Core Facility for Electron Microscopy (UCEM) has one of two cr yo-electron microscopes in Sweden.
\nHosts for the visit are Linda S andblad\, Director of UCEM and researcher at UCMR\, MIMS and t he Department of Microbiology\, and Lars-Anders Carlson\, researcher at WCMM and the Department of Medical Biochemistry a nd Biophysics.
\nDuring his visit\, Professor Dubochet will also mee t Umeå\;-based researchers and school students.
